This is a short dialogue with Hawaiian astrologer, Susan Aiu about President Obama’s “Hawaiian-ness” which I found to be delightful and very descriptive of his attitudes and demeanor. Susan is a real character and very plain spoken. There’s nothing technical about this, nor is it astrological in nature. It’s just a local take on our current president. Susan has a regular weekly astrological newsletter and is available for personal consultations as well. Her contact information is given at the bottom of her article. Read here (PDF)

President Obama was delineated in Chapter 5, backup to that reading has been previously posted in astrological research. This new material provides Vice President Biden’s chart and the composite chart for the team plus a spreadsheet showing the connections including those to the USA Virgo Rising chart.
Potential of President Obama

The Potential of President Obama
Some of what I wrote on the promise of President Obama made it into the book, some did not. Following is the DNMTC pieces regarding the his potential.
When you go to school, you learn about a subject in incremental lessons. In order to evaluate your comprehension there are periodic tests. Life seems to be that way as well, whether you are an individual, a corporation or a country. The timing of a test for a corporation or a country ,which lives so much longer than an individual, extends itself over longer period of time. An example of a test for our country is that Saturn/Uranus opposition that repeats itself every 45 years. This is the one that pits conformity against change, the past against the future, hope and change against non-productive repetition… error against realization. We are in the middle of one of those testing periods, so I hope we are all paying attention. We can see very clearly that what we have been doing is not working. That is why we voted in hope and change, to face the future, and to correct our observable errors. It is very hard to fix something if you are not aware that something is wrong. First we get to recognize it, then we get to fix it. And…it can take as long to fix it as it did to break it, it’s a sine-wave cycle with equal upper and lower curves. See the logic?
Our country and what it holds dear are badly in need of repair. The country requested a fix-it president. We voted our best choice and the man was inaugurated. President Obama has done his best to find good people to help him fix things. So far he has only had a couple of months of specific effort. He has already done more than most presidents have done upon entering office. As I recall, there are usually a lot of campaign promises but very little in the way of delivery. That is why the American public gets so jaded in its outlook. We do know the difference between most campaign promises and reality. They do not usually match up.
As I look around, I do not see anyone else who has the vision, the capability and the courage to do the impossible, which is what we are asking. The current pundits talk a good game, or throw stones, or play big rock in the middle of the road, or spread fear and panic, but they offer no real solutions that I have seen. That blue folder with a blank piece of paper or the actions that caused the problem in the first place is definitely not a solution. When you ask them to verbalize or show their better idea, they do a verbal tap dance much as Richard Gere did in the movie “Chicago.” Go past the entertainment value. The skit was very informative regarding human manipulation as well as entertaining. Politicians keep tap dancing verbally hoping we won’t notice they are not performing in reality. This time, campaign promises are being worked on as this book is being written. Surprisingly, several promises have already been kept. What a novel political idea—a political promise kept. And the pundits and fact-checking organizations are keeping tab. You will never satisfy all of the people all of the time but there appears to be an honest attempt. Right or wrong is in the eye of the beholder, personal perspective.
At this point it is important to reinforce one point. President Obama has repeatedly stated that he intends to lead by looking forward. Let us not distract the man by making him look back while he walks forward. There will be time to right the wrongs. Right now his eye must be on the present as he moves us toward our future.
Out-takes “Multi-tasking”
Monday, August 10th, 2009DNMFC (Did Not Make the Final Cut)
Multi-tasking
ALL the presidents had to multi-task! A President with a one-track mind would be a disaster. Lincoln was a multi-tasker. Did you know that President Lincoln managed to avoid another war with Great Britain shortly after he took office? He was in office for one full term plus 38 days. While in office he did what all the presidents do, dealt with myriad national and international issues while the war and the politics as usual swirled around him. He was a war president with all that entails. We currently call this skill set “multi-tasking.”
The whole of government and society is in constant flux, it never settles down so we can deal with one or two main issues at a time. Sound familiar? A leader deals with it all, all of the time. We had better hope our leaders have that skill set. Anyone who can only do one thing at a time is seriously handicapped and so is our country through such leadership. One-track minds do manage to get one thing done thoroughly, but running a country does not lend itself to one-track thinking. It is the nature of a one-track mind to do one thing. If you’re talking about the person running a country, who is doing the rest of it? That one-track mind must have help, delegate, or have other key people running other pieces.
I am or was an individual/a wife/a mother/a taxi driver for my family/an office worker /a business woman/a minister/a writer and more. There was not a moment that I was not a multiple of things all at the same time, all equally important, all requiring my ability to multi-task. Just because I had to deal with a sick child, that had nothing to do with my job. It was expected and necessary that I do both; and I did, and so does just about every woman in society, as do many men, especially those who are rearing families as a single parent. Occasionally there comes a man or woman who through special privilege or circumstance is able to develop along one line, but that’s the exception not the rule. Sometimes we call those special people idiot savants. Sometimes we just call them idiots, which depends upon whether you are personally involved. For the most part, people must multi-task. Most of us don’t have staffs. Multi-tasking is normal because life demands it. From Presidents Washington to Obama, most of these leaders were gifted and well able to handle multiple tasks. Thank God. I don’t doubt that President Obama can handle multiple things at once. He surrounds himself with very smart people to help him with certain parts. As close as I can tell, he is a master juggler.
[Astrological explanation: Of the two presidents mentioned as multi-taskers, Lincoln and Obama, the astrological signatures in common are 1) Aquarius rising and 2) Mercury/Jupiter, widely conjunct in Pisces for Lincoln (in a 3-planet grouping called a stellium) and the Mercury/Jupiter opposition for Obama, connecting (with stress) the forest and the trees mental agility concept. Reinforcing the Aquarian theme (affinity) is Obama’s Uranus angular (prominent) in his 7th house) and Lincoln’s Neptune trine (benefit) those Pisces planets. Reinforcing the Piscean theme is Obama’s Mercury/Jupiter in challenge to (square) his Neptune (Pisces affinity, adding the flavor of imagination as well.] This skill is not a single thing, it is a complexity.
Today is the official launch of the book

From the desk of Marilyn Muir:

To celebrate the exciting official launch of the book today at 12 noon, I’m sharing the first paragraphs of the opening chapter with you.
Chapter 1: Current Polarization
The reasons behind the current polarization of the American people and the hope that our new administration can fix what has gone wrong as we choose the future over the past.
The 2008 election was astounding to me. I have always had a deep love for my country, have been quasi-informed as I have done my voting duty, have become increasingly interested as I have aged, and was totally mesmerized and alternately disgusted and electrified by the campaign and its outcome.
Because I have a 35-year love affair with astrology (the real stuff, not the dime-store novel stuff), I was naturally curious what I would see and what I could find out about the four major candidates and the outcome of the presidential election. I had done this for several prior elections, using my own technique and had really done quite well, having televised two, got confused by one (but called it correctly), skipped one (or don’t remember doing it), up to November 4, 2008.
Leading up to this election, the American populace was polarized and unhappy. The country seemed to be internally challenged; our diplomatic face had a black eye. We were alternately appalled at what we were witnessing yet still believed strongly in the freedom of the Iraqi people. Everyone I spoke to from every side of the political fence was solidly behind our military and their brave efforts on our behalf. Their patriotism was unquestioned, yet the polarization that exists in America fostered accusations of patriotism whenever the war effort was questioned. If I am horrified by what I see, I have a right to say so, and it has nothing to do with my patriotism. It has to do with my citizenship and my right to question the actions of my government. That’s the right for which the Founding Fathers and so many other courageous heroes have fought and died for over the centuries; that specific right. That’s what our military is fighting for—democracy—not just for the more than 300 million in our country but for the rights of citizens worldwide.
In 2008 the American people were looking for change…..
